Agadatantra
Literally “gada” means a disease and “agada” means any agent which makes the body free from diseases.
Agadatantra is one among the 8 branches of Ayurveda, which includes the science of poisons and its treatments. The tradition of Agada tantra practice is very ancient.
Development of Pappinisseri Visha Chikitsa Kendram
- Pappinisseri visha chikitsa kendra (PVCK) was started in 1964 by M.V Raghavan.
- With an intention to give quality treatment for snake bite victims free of cost.
- A humble beginning of 4 bedded clinic was later grown to a 40 bedded hospital with modern amenities under the leadership of Sri. C.P.Kumaran Vaidyar.
- Within 4 years after starting the clinic, PVCK started modern antivenom treatment for its patients.
- Later PVCK developed a unique protocol for snake bite treatment by combining both modern and ayurvedic treatment modalities.
- PVCK proclaims the fact that 1000 of pit viper cases had been managed effectively by Ayurveda treatment.
